Our Story
Senomix was founded on the East coast of Canada in January of 2003.
The founders were working as software consultants in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Their work in real-time defence and space systems required accurate project time tracking.
Corporate tools for that task were... less than optimal.
Hard-copy paper printouts and MS Excel spreadsheets were often used as front-end solutions. Those work-arounds helped deal with rough custom tools and convoluted enterprise platforms.
The most frustrating chore we faced in our work was recording the work we had done.
We saw employees and owners grinding through hours of needless paperwork frustration. Engineering staff, management, and admin wrestled with cumbersome programs just to track and review project time.
Senomix set out to streamline that task.
During the economic challenge of the dot-com bust, Senomix's founders tightened to founder. Development proceeded, and within a few months a new desktop time tracking tool was released for public download.
Though it was ugly early, that 'version one' gained a few hundred paying users soon after release. Senomix's solid time tracking program delivered what was needed.
2003 to 2012
We created an employee effort tracking system that was accurate, easy, and quick.
Staff and management could open the app, do what they needed, then return to their actual work. Recording time, tracking job progress, and summing hours for billing had become side-tasks that were completed in seconds.
Senomix added options to assist project tracking, work analysis, and client billing. Features for project time estimates came next, with functionality added to match customer needs. Development was driven by user requests and fit their exact business requirements.
2013 to 2022
The era of desktop programs came to an end. Senomix shifted to web applications, then transitioned to fully-remote operations based out of Toronto.
Efficient networking and HTML5 platforms smoothed our shift to internet apps. Smartphones arrived, then tablet computers. And when the world pivoted to full-remote work in early 2020, Senomix was ready to help people adapt to that abrupt shift in life.
External network links integrate Senomix with business management systems. And new connections are added every year to accommodate the latest platforms.
2023 and Beyond
People now connect with Senomix from almost every world time zone (are you in Fiji? Get in touch!).
Whether working as a stand-alone project management tool, or an easy front-end for business financial and accounting systems, Senomix aims to provide the best time tracking apps that help professionals with their work.
Desktop and mobile connections now use the latest technology with integrated Progressive Web Apps (PWA). Global servers set quick links from any national region. And EU data isolation ensures compliance with the strictest General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
